Worship People and Events

Overview

I have had the privilege of playing with many talented Christian musicians, and it always amazes me how each event has it’s own special meaning and purpose to each one of them. All of the players have had a special place in my heart, but several have provided me with the insight to understand what true Christian worship is.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank some of these people, and ask that as you read this, you pray for them to continue their work in their ministries for Gods glory.

Pastor Jeff Smith, Real Life Community Church, who has been blessed by God with not only talent, but a total passion for worship. His incredible natural talents for nearly any instrument he picks up is unimaginable when you combine it with his many other challenges as a husband, father and pastor. He seems never to busy to console someone in need, or to give an ear. We spent several Wednesday nights in Subway, just talking, and he always had just the right words to inspire. Thanks for your inspiration Jeff.

Jason Merson, Uniontown Bible Church, a man with a passion for God and a passion for music. I have only known Jason for a short time, but I have come to realize that his number one desire in life is to worship God through all that he does. His number two desire is to his family, that they may also have the same passion and understanding for God. Jason is probably the busiest person I have ever met, but somehow he seems to fit everything in. You just can’t help but stay motivated when he is around – there’s just something about him that won’t let you give up. Thanks for all you do for me.

Don Stover, Forcey Memorial, is about the most amazing trumpet player I have ever had the pleasure to play with. He seems to always have a positive attitude regardless of how bad things are. He and his wife will cheer you up even if they don’t know your down. Don has a remarkable talent and passion for playing the trumpet. I have played with him on several occasions and have always learned something new each time. Thanks Don – play on!

TJ Atkinson, Forcey Memorial, who is another remarkable trumpet player. He and Don get the privilage of playing with each other on a regular basis. TJ has been friends with my family for many years and has always let us bend his ear when we needed to talk. His words of encouragement are always timely. Thanks TJ.

Although not musicians, Dave Dent and Pat Humes are a must for my inspirational thanks. These two men are very passionate about their worship to our God. To see them live their lives with the focus on being Christ-like is beyond words. I give thanks to God that he has put these two men (among many others) in my life as a needed reminder of what my goal is. Thanks guys.

Past Events

  • Celebrate Recovery : The first Monday night of each month has been set aside for a time of praise and worship. The night begins with a pot luck dinner at 6:00pm and is followed at 7:00pm with a worship service. The service format consists of a welcoming statement by Dave Dent (CR Leader for Utown), a walk through of the purpose of Celebrate Recovery, opening worship music (typically 5 to 6 songs), a testimony , and a closing set of worship music. If you ever attend one of these meetings, you will be amazed at the passion with which the people worship our God. In reality, it is fitting since most of the attendees have felt Gods healing power in their lives and therefore understand how awesome a God we serve. I can’t think of a time of worship that has as much power and purpose as these Monday night meetings. If you can attend one of these meetings please do so, you will encounter God!
  • Senior Night : The seniors high school students who will be graduating this year are invited to a time of fellowship as a final send-off for them. The night kicks off with opening remarks by Pete Green (youth pastor at Utown), followed by several worship songs. This years songs were: The Welcome Song, Song of Hope, Word of God Speak. A presentation consisting of pictures, songs and videos from various events that the youth had attended was shown – sort of a walk down memory lane. There was laughter, there was crying. What a truly meaningful night. The night was closed out with a time of prayer for the youth, followed by more music: Sweetly Broken, Dancing Generation, and concluding with I Am Free. It’s alway a good time and a real pleasure to see these kids growing up with Christ to guide them, their families to push them, and the church body to support them if they fall.
  • Celebrate Recovery : On June 2, 2008 we had our worship celebration outdoors. The weather was perfect, but what should we have expected! What better place to worship our God than in the midst of His creation. The celebration was an enjoyable time for all and the testimony added real value to the entire night. Thanks to all who participated and especially to those who gave of their time to help set up and run this event.

Future Events

  • Sorry, we have no events scheduled at the moment. Check out Uniontown Bible Church new website for upcoming church events. And as always, have a blessed day.
  • We are considering having an outdoor event sometime in the Spring of 2009. The plan would be an all day worship event utilizing worship music and teachings for a unique time of worship and fellowship for the Carroll County Region. We would ask that you keep this in your prayers, that the message of Christ can be shared to the community in a powerful way. Also pray that other churches may have the same vision that they will come along side of us for a powerful day of worship to our God.
